10 hours per week - TTO. 5 days a week 11:30 - 13:30

Fixed Term 1 year in the first instance

Job Advert & Description

As a school that strives for excellence in all areas we would like to appoint a playworker to join our staff team.

Are you someone who is interested in working with aspirational staff, who want the best for the children of Our Lady and St Brendan’s?

We are looking for someone who:

Ideally has experience of working in a similar role.

Can work effectively as part of a team.
Is able to work on their own initiative, prioritising day to day work.
Can actively engage in our outdoor play an learning programme
Has good communication and interpersonal skills.
Is committed to our Catholic vision and ethos.

Effort Demands:

Will supervise and engage children in safe, structured and stimulating play during lunchtimes and playtimes. Will work under the supervision of the senior lunchtime supervisor or senior staff but will be expected to use initiative and build positive relationships with children.

Responsibilities:

Setting up play areas that encourage children to develop through play

Build strong relationships with children and respond to their needs

Lead games and supervise children

Encourage children to express themselves and talk about their worries
Build positive relationships with parents, carers and professionals
Make sure children are safe and secure
Deal with injuries and emergencies

Salary and Benefits

£5794 - £5897 per annum
