Estates and Facilities Manager

Overview

The Governors of The Holy Family Catholic School are seeking to appoint a proactive and dedicated Estates and Facilities Manager to lead the day-to-day management, compliance and strategic development of our school estate. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forwardthinking team committed to maintaining a high-quality learning environment for our students and staff.

Pay: PO2 SCP 29-32 (£39,862 - £42,839 per annum)

Full time - permanent - all year round

The Role

You will play a key role in ensuring our buildings, grounds and facilities are safe, clean, secure and compliant. This includes managing planned and reactive maintenance, health and safety compliance, site security, capital improvement projects, sustainability planning and the oversight of cleaning, caretaking and external contractors. As the school’s lead on estates, you will work closely with the Business Manager, Headteacher, Leadership Team and the Trust Estates Manager to deliver costeffective and efficient facilities management services that support the school’s wider improvement goals and Catholic mission.

Overview

The Estates and Facilities Manager will oversee delivery of effective and efficient estates services for all pupils, staff and stakeholders, ensuring that the school estate is maintained to a high standard and provides a safe, clean and compliant environment for learners to thrive in and reach their full potential.

They will lead the estates team with responsibility for health and safety, cleaning, maintenance, security, the upkeep of the school buildings and grounds.

They will take a professional and proactive approach, working within set budgets to achieve the most efficient and economic use of the schools premises, facilities, plant, equipment and materials.

They will work with the Head Teacher, Business Manager, School Leaders and the Trust Central Team in the delivery of key strategic objectives in relation to facility management, financial planning and expenditure, school improvement projects and sustainability.

About you

We are looking for a solutions-focused, well-organised individual with experience in estates or facilities management - ideally within an educational or similar setting. You will have a good understanding of statutory compliance (especially in health and safety), and the ability to lead teams and manage contractors effectively. A professional qualification in building, construction or facilities management is desirable, as is a Health and Safety qualification such as NEBOSH.

Most importantly, you will demonstrate a commitment to the school’s mission to “awaken minds, achieve dreams and serve others. ”

A full driving licence is desirable and you must have (or be willing to obtain) business use vehicle insurance, as travel between Trust sites may be required.
